Theodore R. Higgins, 70, of Kennesaw, died Sunday. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Marietta with the Revs. Al Turnell and Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park with military and masonic honors. A Philadelphia native, Mr. Higgins moved to Kennesaw 26 years ago. He retired from the Air Force after 26 years of service, including service during World War II with combat at the Battle of the Bulge, and the Korean War. He later worked with and retired from the Cobb County Board of Education. He was a member of a number of organizations, including the Yarrab Temple, the Kennesaw Mountain Shrine Club Jokers, the Masonic Meyerhardt Lodge No. 314, the Cobb County Sheriff's Office Reserve Deputy Department. He was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Libby Higgins; a daughter, Susan E. Bramblett of Marietta; a son, Bruce R. Higgins of Lawrenceville; four sisters, Dorothy Gunita of Orlando; Betty Henry of Mays Landing, N.J., Heidi Raynor of Cardiff, N.J., and Sally Super of Blackwood, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
Donations may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church or the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. [Marietta Daily Journal, Tuesday, September 5, 1995]
