Services will be noon Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Marietta. Burial was in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. A native of Havana, Cuba, Mrs. de la Torre taught in Cuba for 34 years and retired from Sprayberry High School after 16 years of service as a teacher. She was named Cobb County's 1976-1977 Teacher of the Year and served as a volunteer for the Red Cross for 10 years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Survivors include one son, Manny de la Torre of Marietta; and nephews and nieces. Contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30315. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home–Winkenhofer Chapel in Marietta.
