Her obituary: Mr. Gill. Roy Hayman Gill, 75, of Marietta died Monday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of First Baptist Church in Marietta with the Rev. Dean Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Memorial Park. A native of Meansville, Ga., Mr. Gill moved to Marietta in 1957. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marietta and the Kingdom Builders Sunday school class. He was the head master of Gordon Military Academy in Barnesville. He was a high school principal at Stephens County High School and taught at Toccoa High School. He later taught at Sprayberry High School in Marietta and was a member of Retired Teachers Association. He is survived by his wife, Olis Addison Gill of Marietta; two daughters, Mrs. Danny R. Stanley of Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. A.E. Langston of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sons, Nathan Gill of Jackson, Ga. and Donald V. Gill of Toronto, Canada; two sisters, Mrs. John A. Hunt of Macon, Mrs. Leon Ferguson of Dawson, Ga.; eight grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, Marietta, or Piedmont College. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today and 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Mayes Ward Funeral Home, Marietta. [The Marietta Daily Journal, Tuesday, June 15, 1982; page 8A]
