Her obituary: Hipsher. Miriam Field Hipsher, age 66 of Marietta, died Sunday, May 3. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Storey officiating. Burial will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park. A native of Atlanta, Mrs. Hipsher moved to Cobb County in 1952. She taught school and coached girl's basketball at Marietta High School. She was a counselor at Sprayberry High School for 19 years until her retirement. An avid tennis player, she was a member of ALTA Tennis Club. She was a member of Marietta First United Methodist Church, active in Stephen Ministries, Evangelism Explosion and W.O.W. Group. She received her undergraduate in education from Georgia State College for Women. She received a masters degree in counseling from Georgia State University. Survivors include one daughter, Amy Hipsher Maxwell of Florence, AL; one son, Andy Hipsher of Marietta; her mother, Ina Mae Field of Atlanta, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
