February 18, 1930 – March 10, 2022. Charlotte Marie Cagle Nixon (Marie) (92) finished her earthly journey Thursday evening, March 10, 2022. Marie was born in Canton, Georgia, raised in Jasper, Georgia and was a graduate of The University of Georgia and forever a Bulldog! She was a teacher for Marietta City Schools and later Cobb County Schools and retired after 30 plus years. She enjoyed traveling and attending UGA football games, to which she always brought her famous Rum Cake for all to enjoy at tailgates. Her husband, Charles (Nick) Nixon and her son, Charles Edward Nixon preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Coots (Jim); grandchildren, Leslie and Audrey Coots, Lee and Kyle Nixon; sister–in–law, Virginia Nixon as well as nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, March 14th at 10am followed by a service at 11am at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, Historic Marietta Chapel. Contributions may be made to Calvary Children's Home, Powder Springs, GA.
