Her obituary: Lillian Borden, 84, retired librarian. Mrs. Lillian Ruth Parris Borden, 84, of Smyrna, died Wednesday in Marietta. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church of Marietta with the Rev. Dr. James O. Speed officiating. The body will be at the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park, Marietta. A native of Marshall County, Ala., Mrs. Borden had lived in Cobb County 34 years. She was a graduate of Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn. with a Library Science Degree and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma in Cobb County. She retired in 1969 as librarian at Sprayberry High School. Survivors include a daughter, Martha Borden Burley of Marietta; a sister, Jimmie P. Stutts of Birmingham, Ala.; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 189 Church St., N.E., Marietta, 30060. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, Marietta.
