Her obituary: Kathleen Ann "Katsy" Keel (87) born in New Orleans, LA to Tommie Maude and Jerome Anthony Broussard peacefully passed at home on August 27, 2022, surrounded by her immediate family. She was one of three children, having been preceded in death by her sister Nancy Edmundson of NC, she is survived by her brother Jerome (Beth) Broussard, her children include Steve (who preceded her in death in 2017) and his wife (Toni), Adrienne (Les), Tom (Susan), Kathy (Mark), Suzanne and her son Greg. Katsy had 10 grandchildren including Christopher (Candice) Boyd, Jeremy (Whitney) Boyd, Bridgette (Brad) Cox, Tyler (Shannon) Boyd, Hannah Jane Boyd, Lilliana Kathleen Boyd, Gregory Keel, Chris Keel, Jessica (Adam) Cochran, Emily Keel and 7 great grandchildren. Additional family members include many cousins, 8 nieces.
Katsy was a graduate of LSU Lafayette where she graduated with a degree in mathematics and later earned her MBA from KSU Kennesaw. She lived most of her life in Marietta, GA where she taught at Sprayberry High for 25+ years and worked after her retirement at H&R Block in Marietta. Katsy lived life to the fullest enjoying sewing, an avid reader, gardener, she also enjoyed travel, regular lunch with her friends and spending time with her family. She was devout in her Catholic faith, never wavering throughout her life. Katsy was charitable in both her time and finances supporting church charities and contributing to those in need. She enjoyed the precious time spent while attending mass with her grandson Greg who stood beside her in faith. Katsy showed great strength and love by example as she remained loyal to her many friends throughout her life and maintained contact with them until the end. with our Lord and Savior, thank you for loving her. Services will be held at the Catholic Church of St Ann, 4905 Roswell Road, Marietta, GA 30062 on September 22, 2022 at 11:00 am followed by Rite of Committal at Catholic Church of St. Ann Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations to be provided to St Vincent de Paul - St Ann; Must Ministries of Marietta or Halt Cancer at X in her name.
