His obituary: McAshan, Hildeth Hoke, 77, of Palm Harbor, died Monday (April 16, 2001) at home. He was born in Alexandria, Va., and came here in 1994 from Ponte Vedra Beach. He retired in 1983 from the University of North Florida, where he was a professor and author of seven professional books. He earned his Master's degree from University of Tennessee and his doctorate from Michigan State University. Survivors include his wife, Betty; a son, Brian, and a daughter, Beth McAshan, both of Palm Harbor; two nephews, Vaughn and James McAshan, and a niece, Penn McAshan Tucker, all of Winter Haven. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater.
