Algood – Funeral services for Burl Phy, 78, will be Thursday, December 21 at 2 p.m. in the Algood Chapel of Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home with burial in the Algood Cemetery. Mr. Phy was dead on arrival at Cookeville General Hospital Tuesday (December 29, 1987) from an apparent heart attack. A native of Putnam County, he was the son of the late Christopher and Lennie Bell Buck Phy.
Mr. Phy was a veteran of World War II and a retired school teacher. His family includes one sister, Pansy Thompson of Algood and a number of nieces and nephews. The body lies in state in the Algood Chapel. Rev. Joe Moore will officiate at the services.
