His obituary: Pope Family. Alan Clayton Pope, 28, Mrs. Ann Marie Hess Pope, 24, and Charles Alan Pope, one-year-old, were killed in a two-car-collison in Scottsboro, Ala. Sunday.
The Popes lived at 80 Tate St., Kennesaw. Mr. Pope was the basketball coach at Walton High School. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Roswell Street Baptist Church, Marietta, with Rev. Nelson Price officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Survivors include: Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Pope of Marietta; Mr. and Mrs. James Mark Hess of Athens, Ala.; Bobby Pope of Marietta; Mrs. Kay Gary of Birmingham; Mrs. Vera Cole of Piedmont, Ala.; Mrs. Penny R. Cox of Duluth, Ga.; Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Sartain of Athens; several aunts and uncles. Albert M. Dobbins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
