July 31, 1983 – February 24, 2026. Dewayne Thomas Gravley, 42, of Ringgold, GA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. He was born at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta GA on July 31, 1983. Dewayne attended Sprayberry High School and he was a graduate of Jefferson State University with a degree in mortuary science. Dewayne was employed at Heritage Funeral Home from 2012 until his passing as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He has lived in Ringgold, GA since 2012 and is a member of the Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle. Dewayne loved studying the Bible, was an avid New York Mets fan, and member of the Seven Line Army. He loved studying history, spending time with his kids, going to sports events, and spending time together with his family. Dewayne was preceded in death by his father Glenn Thomas Gravley. Dewayne is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Shelley Smith Gravley; sons Noah and James; daughter Hannah; mother Dianne Gravley Copeland (Harry), mother and father-in-law Susan Proctor Smith and Steve W. Smith, brother and sister-in-law Nathan and Amanda Smith, 2 nephews Caleb and Wyatt Smith, several cousins, aunts, and uncles also survive. Funeral services honoring the life of Dewayne will be held 11 am Monday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Justin Gazaway officiating. Interment will be in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory family.
