His obituary: Mark Alan Gilbert, December 12, 1971 – May 3, 2026. Mark Alan Gilbert, 54, passed away at his home in Johns Creek, Georgia on Sunday, May 3. He was born at Kennestone Hospital, Marietta and resided in Kennesaw, Georgia his entire childhood. He graduated from Sprayberry High School class of 1990 with honors. He proceeded to attend the The University of Georgia, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in business and risk management. He also enrolled in some accounting classes at Kennesaw College during summer breaks. Mark worked for insurance companies, the IRS, and most recently for CVR Inc., accounting and auditing. He liked to spend his spare time volunteering to help children. He coached youth soccer many years, was a counselor at Camp Kudzu for children with Type 1 diabetes, tutored children after school and was a Youth Sunday School teacher at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta. He was well known for his kindness and the generosity of his time. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Mark is survived by his mother, Lois Perry Gilbert, his brother, Todd (wife Lucy), his nephew, William and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Ray Gilbert. A Memorial Service will be held at First United Lutheran Church, 3481 Campus Loop Road. At 10:00 on Saturday May 23.
