His obituary: Ellis Brinson Vestal, Jr. Charlotte – Ellis Brinson Vestal, Jr., 46, of Charlotte, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ellis was born in Chapel Hill on April 23, 1968 to Ellis Brinson Vestal, Sr. and Sylvia Prevost Vestal. He served as an Electronics Technician in the US Navy and is a graduate of the UNC Charlotte College of Architecture. He was a member of Forest Hill Church in Charlotte where he served as a volunteer on the production team for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Angela Hood Vestal and children, Emily and Eli Vestal, his parents, Brinson and Sylvia Vestal, and two sisters Laura Vestal Huster and Dana Vestal Byrd. Memorial services will be held on Friday, Jan. 9 at 4 p.m. at Forest Hill Church, 7224 Park Rd, Charlotte and on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. at Kenansville Baptist Church, Kenansville. In lieu of flowers, an education fund has been established for his children.
