Her obituary: Lora Lee Martin, April 19, 1966 – January 11, 2025, (age 58). Lora L. Martin, 58, of Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at her home surrounded by friends and family. She was a beloved friend, a dedicated daughter, a loving sister, and a caring aunt. A celebration of a life well lived will be held in Lora's honor on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at her home. Lora was born on April 19, 1966, to James R. Martin and Linda LaCroix Martin in Fitchburg, MA. She grew up in Marietta, GA, and graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1984. She completed her bachelor's degree with a specialization in computer information systems from George Mason University in 1998. Lora was a gifted IT professional and held a series of prestigious positions over her career. She was an avid traveler, a passionate SCUBA diver, and a devoted animal lover who cherished her role as a pet mom. In addition to her many interests, she served as a proud member of the Fire Island Pines Volunteer Fire Department, reflecting her commitment to community and service. Lora will be deeply missed by her mother, Linda Martin; sister, Susan Kennedy; nieces, Taylor and Bailey; nephew, Michael; great-nephew, Phoenix and her beloved friend and housemate, Carol. She was cherished by her confidants and caregivers, Marc, Laura, Monica, and Ari, as well as her close friends, Chuck, Ted, Bob, Teresa, Jean, Norma, Julie, Luz, Judy, Ritsa and Johnna. Her college mates Stephen, Melissa, Tracey, Jan, Virginia, Rodney and Debbie held a special place in her heart. Her cherished dogs, Max and Buddy, will miss her dearly. Her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit touched the lives of countless others who will always hold her memory dear. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to Oceana in Lora's memory.
