Her obituary: Karen M. Barrett. Karen M. Barrett, 35, of Kennesaw, died Tuesday, December 18, 2001 at Kennestone Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Marietta, Karen was a 1984 graduate of Sprayberry High School. She worked as a cashier for Winn Dixie Market on Hwy. 41 in Kennesaw until recently, when she began work with Publix Supermarket at the Prado, Marietta location. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles G. Barrett, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Marie Barrett of Kennesaw; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Josephine Barrett of Kennesaw; a sister and brother-in-law Leslie and John Summerour of Marietta; 2 nephews and one niece. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2001 at Medford-Peden Funeral Home in Marietta, with Rev. Allen Green officiating. The body will be cremated. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers, may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
