John Dees. John died on January 21, 1983.
His obituary: Mr. Dees. Funeral services for John Leeland Dees of Marietta will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Piedmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifton Duvall and the Rev. Ledis Bargo officiating. Burial will be in Cheatham Memorial Park. Dee, 20, died Friday in a sledding accident. Survivors include parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter William Dees, Marietta; brother, Walter William Dees Jr., Marietta; maternal grandfather, Leeland Gilbert, Bessemer, Ala.; paternal grandmother Irma Mae Dees, Albany, Ga.
Dees was born in Cobb where he lived all his life. The manager of the Sprayberry High School football team, he graduated in 1981. He was a student at Kennesaw College and formerly was with the Star Printing Co. and was a member of the Piedmont Baptist Church. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hay-Gantt Funeral Home.
