Late in life John retired due to health concerns, and spent his time enjoying his hobbies, which included spending time with his family, and singing and playing music. Even in his final days, he called for his autoharp and belted out tunes from his favorite performers including Home Free, Elvis, and Chuck Berry. Those closest to John are sure to know his favorite Chuck Berry tune, and he was not afraid to sing it, regardless of the audience.
