His obituary: David J Strudthoff, 42. David J. Strudthoff Of North Bend, Washington passed away April 6, 2005 at the age of 42. Born May 23, 1962 in Omaha, Nebraska, David grew up and lived most of his life in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia and graduated from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw. Georgia. Employed 15 years by Safeco Insurance Company, most recently as Assistant Vice President, David accepted a promotion in 2000 and moved the family to North Bend, Washington. David's passion in life was his family and everything he did was for them. He was a wonderful husband to his wife of 18 years, Cathy with whom he had two children. He was a very involved father to his son Zach 15, and his daughter Katie 11, to whom he provided much love and mentoring. David was knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects and he loved to pass this knowledge on to his children. He was a great lover of life and loved all sports, especially golf, baseball, skiing or anything that involved the outdoors. David was in the best physical shape of his life when he was diagnosed with inoperable non-smokers lung cancer in September 2002. Although faced with difficult odds, David fought this battle with indescribable courage and determination. He continued to work through two plus years of difficult treatments and up until the last few months of his life. David is also survived by his mother and father, Jack and Joan Strudthoff of Woodstock, GA, brother Greg Strudthoff and wife Stacey, of Acworth, GA, sister Jeanne Huck and husband Ben of Marietta, GA, sister Julie LeFevers and husband, Shannon of Acworth, GA, mother-in-law Fran McCoy of Greensboro, NC, brother-in-law Mike McCoy and wife Laura of Myrtle Beach, SC and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. James Cunningham and the wonderful staff at Pacific Medical Center for providing such excellent care during the majority of Davids illness. A reception will be held Satuurday, April 9 at Flintofts Funeral Home in Issaquah, 540 E Sunset Way, Issaquaah from 1 to 3 PM. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 13 at 10 AM at St. Michael The Archangel in Woodstock, GA, with a reception following at Canterbury Golf Club.
