His obituary: Jonny Lamar Dempsey, August 15, 1960 – January 16, 2021. Jonny Lamar Dempsey passed away on January 16, 2021 after a brief illness. Born in Marietta, Georgia he was the son of the late James and Myrtle (Hillhouse) Dempsey. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Waller; stepchildren, Rebecca Johnson and Chris Lawrence; grandchildren, Samantha, Sierra, Joshua, Gabriel, Nikki, and Allen; brothers, Hoyle Dempsey of Acworth, GA, Donald (Gail) Dempsey of Canton, GA, and Jerry (Debra) Dempsey of Dallas, GA; sisters, Renee (Dennis) Vaughn of Woodstock, GA and Sherry Dempsey of Ball Ground, GA; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends. Jonny was a kind and big-hearted man who made friends easily and was loved by many. He enjoyed life and always had a big grin for everyone. He loved being outdoors and hunting and fishing. He will be missed by all those who loved him. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 and 2 – 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in the Columbarium at Southern Cremations & Funerals at Cheatham Hill. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the Columbarium with burial to follow in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
