If you are reading this page, then you already know how special Anne was, what an incredibly vivacious and generous spirit she had and how her terrific sense of humor was ever present. Anne had endless energy and an infectious love for life. Below are a few highlights of a life ended too soon. Anne was born in Buffalo, NY on July 19, 1961. The family moved to Georgia in 1976, living in Marietta, where Anne attended and graduated from Sprayberry High School. She earned her BS in Computer Science and Mathematics at Emory University in Atlanta. Anne was a member of the Chi Omega sorority where she developed lifelong friendships. Anne put her degree to work immediately and recently celebrated her 29th anniversary at Amdocs Inc., where she was a well-respected software support analyst. She was the go-to person for countless projects over the years, including training new employees in India. She loved her trips to India and all of the incredible people she met. Anne's greatest joy was her daughter Samantha, of whom she was infinitely proud. Anne was blessed with an incredible friend and second daughter, Katie Smith. Anne instilled confidence and unconditional love in both of her girls and so many others who had the honor of knowing her. After briefly living in California, Anne and Samantha returned to Georgia, making their home in Johns Creek. It was here in Johns Creek where Anne's circle of friends continued to grow as she got involved in numerous community service organizations. Anne was most proud of her impact in Girl Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, the Fine Arts Association at Northview High School, A Beacon of Hope and various programs at Saint Brigid Catholic Church. The standout among these activities certainly was Anne's dedication to the Girl Scouts, serving 18 years with the North Fulton cluster – long after Samantha had stopped participating. Anne's creativity was forever overflowing with her countless crafting and painting projects. Anne also enjoyed the camaraderie of friends, canvas painting, playing Keno, musical theater, and traveling to visit family and friends across the country. Among her favorite trips were beach vacations to Hilton Head Island with Samantha, Teresa and Katie. She was an independent and confident shining light always ready for an adventure – and now she is living the Grandest Adventure of all! If you wish to honor Anne's memory, the family asks that you make donations to The Anne DeFranks OWC Scholarship Fund for Girl Scouts who are dedicated to community service.
