His obituary: Ricky Anderson, November 15, 1960 – January 11, 2025. Ricky Edward Anderson died January 11th, 2025 in his home in Powder Springs, Georgia after a short, but hard fought, battle with cancer. Ricky was born on November 15th, 1960 to the late Barbara and Carl Anderson at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. Ricky was a graduate of Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia. Ricky was an avid fisherman and enjoyed all things related to the sport. Most weekends he could be found sitting on a bank of a pond, or in boat, waiting for the next bite. When not fishing, Ricky was preparing for the Georgia Bulldogs football game on Saturdays, a NASCAR race on Sundays, or cheering on the Atlanta braves any other day. Ricky was a proud employee of Waste Management for over 30 years, serving in the roles of both driver and supervisor. While employed, he made numerous life long friends, and with his passing, left a void that will be hard to fill. Anyone who knew Ricky, knew that he was a proud Papa, aka Pop Pop to his 8 grandchildren; CJ Neal (20), Bella Neal (13), Aiden Neal (2), McKenzie Crawford (19), Cameron Crawford (17), Joshua Anderson (9), Arya Austin (9), and Evie Austin (4). Ricky was preceded in death by his above-mentioned parents and sister, Roxy Anderson. He is survived by wife of 38 years, Dawn. Children; Chrisopher Neal of Powder Springs, Ga; Adam (Kimberly) Anderson of Dallas, Ga; Desiree (Steen) Austin of Clermont, Florida. Sisters; Janice (Rick) Cantrell of Elijay, Georgia and Tracey (Jimmy) Mcgrath of Woodstock, Georgia. There are numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews that will miss Ricky in his passing. Ricky's dedication to his family and his love for life will be forever remembered and respected. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 27, 2025 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Interment will follow at 1:30 pm at Hollywood Cemetery in Tallapoosa, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
