Her obituary: Tami McAdams Smith, September 7, 1959 – July 20, 2026. Tami was a caring, creative, and loving woman who lived her life with passion and authenticity. She and Mike were married for 35 years. She was the Matriarch of the family, being the oldest of four and always took care of her family as they were a priority to her. She had a big heart and a deep sense of compassion, always caring deeply about people and animals. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, and those who knew her always knew where she stood. Giving is what made Tami the happiest, making sure the people she loved felt loved. She had an amazing voice, and her creativity could be seen in everything she did, from her colorful sense of style and eye for decorating to the warm and welcome home she created. She especially loved cooking and sharing meals with people she loved. Tami always planned and prepared an incredible meal, spending hours in the kitchen to make it special for everyone. Tami was passionate about animals, especially cats! She was always rescuing them and taking them to the vet for shots, getting them spayed or neutered and would help find them homes ~ or just try and keep them all herself! Tami attended Sprayberry High School and graduated in 1977. She played clarinet in the band and was the Captain of the Rifle Corp - Twirling Rifles. She also won several state competitions for shorthand which prepared her for her 42 year career at Lockheed Martin. While at Lockheed Martin, Tami was in the union and also volunteered for the March of Dimes with union members raising over $200,000 - $300,000 each year which Lockheed Martin matched. She took pride in all of her work related accomplishments. Tami was a Stage 4 Breast Cancer Survivor, that was how fierce she was! Those who knew and loved Tami will remember those beautiful crystal-blue eyes, her creative spirit, and the love she poured into everything she did.
