Tom Goodell. Tom died on July 7, 2019.

His obituary: Thomas Goodell, July 7, 2019. Thomas P. Tom Goodell, 60, formerly of Cobb County, went Home to the Lord on Sunday, July 7 after a long and brave battle with heart and kidney failure. Tom was born in an Air Force family to Harlan and Mary Richardson Goodell in Gulfport, Ms. He attended Sprayberry High School in Marietta and Gainesville College. He went on to serve proudly and honorably himself in the Air Force, having survived combat in Iran during the hostage crisis in 1979-80. Tom was the father of eleven surviving children who live coast to coast and beyond, one currently living in China. He was regional manager for AT&T cellular and was the idea man behind unlimited service. He was a born again Christian and loved the mission of cooking for the homeless. Additionally, he was a self taught insurance expert, and looked at acquiring grants for people without health insurance as his personal ministry. He is survived by his father Harlan, stepmother Shirley, eleven children by a previous marriage to Geneva DaVega Goodell, and ten grandchildren, two brothers, Danny Goodell of Rhode Island and Jon Goodell of Marietta, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and a heartbroken wife, Sandi, his high school sweetheart. There will be no local services and the memorials will be private. Special thanks also go to his longtime best friend, Tim Gant, for helping the family out at this most difficult time.
