His obituary: Richard Arrowood, 59, of Ball Ground, Georgia, formerly of Murphy, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017. He was a native of Cherokee County, but spent his youth in Marietta, Georgia. Richard worked as a Winn-Dixie store manager in Moultrie, Georgia before moving to Ball Ground. Richard was an avid gold panner and he also loved NASCAR, collecting coins, and his cat, Jill. Richard was a member of Valdosta, Georgia Baptist Church. He was the son of Winona Hedden Arrowood of Murphy and the late Boyd Maynard Arrowood. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his former wife, Teresa Arrowood of Moultrie, Georgia; daughter, Tangela Edwards of Lake Park, Georgia; and a son, Boyd Matthew Arrowood of Acworth, Georgia. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Ronnie Crisp officiating. The interment was in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbeaerers were Alex Baur, Michael Petri, Blake Arrowood, Monty Mosteller, Justin Galloway, and Mitchell Arrowood. The family received friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy. Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy in charge of all arrangements.
