Billy Cox. Billy died on August 20, 2024.
His obituary: William Robert Cox, August 20, 2024.
William Billy Robert Cox, born in Birmingham, Alabama, was raised and a long time beloved resident of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family. He loved hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. He was never too old to brave the ocean waters, or any weather conditions to show support at his grandchildren's events, or to stay up late wrapping Christmas presents and helping to create magical experiences for his grandchildren. He enjoyed adventures and making memories most in the Blue Ridge Mountains and Panama City Beach, Florida.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents James and Phyllis Cox, his late wife, Tonyia McClure Cox and his son-in-law, Jeremy Dean Clackum. In his 67 years of life, Billy and his late wife, Tonyia, of 34 years, created a beautiful blended family filled with children, grandchildren, as well as multiple step-grandchildren. Billy leaves behind two daughters, Tabitha Clackum and Tracy Cox and four grandchildren, Jordyn, Camryn, Aryel and Chance. As well as his two siblings, Peggy Wilson and Jake Cox. Billy was a devoted father and papa to his children and grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life. He cherished every moment spent with them, always providing guidance, love, and encouragement. Those who knew Billy will always remember his outgoing personality and how he unapologetically lived life on his own terms. In his passing, Billy leaves behind a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him. While his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of his children and grandchildren and in the countless memories shared by his family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace, getting to share the long awaited, well deserved drink with some of the people he so desperately longed to see again, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. As final preparations are still being made, a private service will be held to celebrate Billy's life. Information on his public service is (TBD) and will be updated and shared here when it becomes available. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that if you feel lead, donations be made to the trust account listed below to further support and honor Billy’s final wishes and expenses (Wells Fargo Account #9312157770) or donate directly to the American Diabetes Association charity as Billy was a T1 Diabetic Warrior.
