His obituary: Scott Thurman, June 20, 1956 – April 15, 2012. Scott E. Thurmon, 55 of Kennesaw died on Sunday, April 15, 2012. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Marietta Seventh Day Adventist Church in Marietta. Scott was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and devoted his life to the mission field and serving others. Survivors include his wife, Melanie Thurmon; son & daughter-in-law, Jared & Annette Thurmon; daughter, Britteny Thurmon all of Kennesaw; his mother, Jimmie Joan Thurmon of Ringgold; one sister, Marsha Davies of Ohio; two brothers, Stanley Thurmon of Taylorsville; Jack Thurmon of Collegedale, TN; nieces & nephews.
