His obituary: Abner Cooper Austin, September 30, 1957 – February 2, 2019. Mr. Abner Cooper Austin, 61, of Kennesaw, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019. A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 Wednesday afternoon February 6th in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home with the Rev. Zack Beavers officiating. He was born on Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, TX on September 30, 1957 to his mother, Darlene Stewart and his late father, Cooper Jay Austin. In 1973 his family relocated to Kennesaw, GA where he spent the rest of his life. He attended school in the Kennesaw area, making many lifelong friends and eventually meeting the love of his life, Dorothy Austin, whom he wed in 1983. He worked as an RN at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta where he was loved by his fellow co-workers. Abner was a born again, spirit filled Christian man who loved the Lord and all things created by Him. He loved to learn about anything he could. He worked hard to provide for his family and instill Christian core values and morals. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his loved ones: Dorothy Austin, Aaron (Megan) Austin, Sarah Austin and Daniel (Jayme) Austin as well as 6 grandchildren (Corbyn, Brayden, Adam, Luke, Jaxon and Kaylee), as well as his mother, a host of siblings, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
