Her obituary: Mrs. Wonda Downer Poor, 60 of Lake Drive, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at University Hospital, Augusta. Mrs. Poor, a native of Chattanooga, had lived in McBean, Ga. before moving to Lincoln County in 1994. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who spent her life caring for her family and others. Her church was very important to her and she enjoyed helping with the WOM, had organized the senior citizens movie night, and enjoyed the Wednesday night youth ministry. She is survived by her husband, Albert Leroy Poor; Parents, Curtis and Sybil Downer, Calhoun, Ga.; Son: A. Burton Poor and wife, Krystina of Orlando, Fl.; Daughters: Kara P. McGahee and husband, Jerry of Dearing, Miriam P. Jones, Waynesville, MO; Brother: David Downer and wife, Tan of Pearson, Ga.; Grandchildren: Rebecca Poor, Elijah Poor, Sarah Poor, Robert McGahee and Tyler McGahee, Jade Jones, Hayden Jones, and Riley Jones. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 30th at 11 a.m. at Double Branches Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Etheridge officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m until the hour of the service at the church on Friday morning. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Double Branches Baptist Church, c/o Teresa Tankersley, P.O. Box 294, Lincolnton, Ga. 30817. (designate to youth Wednesday night meals).
