Ronnie Wright. Ronnie died on February 25, 2022.
His obituary: Ronald Kevin Wright, age 66, passed away in Kingwood, Texas on Friday, February 25, 2022. Ron was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico on December 8, 1955, to Juanita Ruth Dyche Phipps and Jesse Calvin Wright. A natural singer, songwriter and musician, Ron and his guitar found their way into many places and hearts. Ron was a published songwriter and accomplished studio musician with a lifetime of playing across the United States and Germany. He got his first guitar at 10, and by 20 was playing regularly in Underground Atlanta. He played at concerts, private events, night clubs, cruise ships, and many recording sessions. Ron played in projects with members of the Garth Brooks band, the Georgia Satellites and a host of other well known artists and studio musicians. Ron is perhaps best known for his work with his other family, Trick Dog Band. Playing across Texas, Colorado and California for almost three decades, Ron brought smiles and won hearts with some of the best guitar playing on the planet. He leaves behind a huge hole in the Doghouse, two big brothers, John Brackett of Kingwood, Texas and Rick Wright of Marietta, Georgia, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends. He is loved and missed by all.
A memorial service for Ron is planned for March 20, 2022. Details will be provided by the family. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.kingwoodfuneralhome.com for Ron's family. [Kingwood Funeral Home, Kingwood, Tex.]
