August 11, 1956 – January 25, 2025. Peggy Denise Shelton, 68, of Kingston, Georgia, passed away on January 25, 2025. Denise was born on August 11, 1956, to Marvin and Peggy McWilliams. After graduating from Sprayberry High School in 1974, she married her high school sweetheart, Wendell Shelton, in 1975. Together, they raised four children: Daniel, Christie, Brent, and Kyle. Denise had a lifelong passion for working with children. She taught preschool for 14 years before transitioning to a role as a special education paraprofessional in Cobb County. Later, she worked in the library at Austin Middle School in Paulding County. Denise was known for her contagious, carefree spirit and generous heart. She found joy in life’s simple moments and always approached things with a positive attitude. She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy McWilliams; her husband, Wendell Shelton; and her daughter, Christie Shelton. She is survived by her father, Marvin McWilliams (Diane); her sister, Lisa Ingram (Daryl); her brother, Tim McWilliams (Kathy); her son, Daniel Shelton (Tameshia) and granddaughter, Paisley; her son, Brent Shelton and grandsons, Cameron and Miles; her son, Kyle Shelton and granddaughter, Lakelynn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A service to honor Denise's life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at NorthStar Church in Kennesaw, Georgia. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
