Nancy Waldrop. Nancy died on February 1, 2023.

Her obituary: Nancy Waldrop Sulewski, October 12, 1955 – February 1, 2023. Nancy C. Waldrop Sulewski, 67, of passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. The daughter of Charles and Belle Waldrop, Nancy was born on October 12, 1955. She was preceded in death by both Belle and Charles and her older brother Gerald Waldrop. Nancy is survived by her husband Charles, her daughter Kelly and son-in-law Jason, her grandchildren Junah, Jeremiah, and Juliana, and her sister Sylvia and brother Tommy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews that she loved. Above all else, Nancy will be remembered as a mother to Kelly and grandmother to Junah, Jeremiah, and Juliana and partner to Charlie. She lived and loved her people with reckless abandon. She embodied what it meant to be a mother to all – all Kelly's friends were her kids and she loved them all. She was a cheerleader to her core for her daughter and grandkids making sure that they each knew how special and loved they were to her every day. You could always tell when Gigi was in town – the trail of toys and chocolate was visible from a distance. She heeded no warnings from her daughter that children needed real food before sweets. Perhaps this was the rule when you were the parent ... but NOT when you were the Gigi! She lives on in her grandchildren especially. She loved to say that Junah had her luck, Jeremiah had her sweetness, and Juliana had her grace. In reality, they each bear the mark of being raised by a grandmother that loved them and believed in them unconditionally. Beyond her love of her people, Nancy adored animals. She had a deeply kind heart that made her post-retirement job of pet-sitting a natural fit for her. She found joy and adventure in all the different animals she got to play with from dogs to cats to deer and birds and pigs. But, at the end of the day, she loved coming home to her furry pack of three big dogs that brought her such love. There were many more that crossed the rainbow bridge in the years preceding Nancy and we know she is delighting in all the puppy kisses she got when she went home. Nancy spent 30 years with the love of her life, Charlie. He brought her much joy and with him came new loves – New York City, Teusher Chocolates, NY bagels, and an extended family that she cared for deeply. The year she lived in New York, the only time in her life she lived out of her hometown of Marietta, was a grand adventure in food, exploration, shows, city lights, and she loved every minute of it. She knew her life would never be as long as she wanted. That was not to be her journey. So, she made sure that she lived each day with intention and joy and fullness. And it radiated from her. There is nothing that will fill the hole that is left by her absence. No one is her. But we can all be like her. If you are inclined and able, we will offer a few places you can make donations in her name that would be meaningful to her. In reality though, small acts of kindness were the true hallmark of who she was and how she lived. If you want to honor her, buy someone a meal or a coffee. Go for a walk with your friend and really listen to how they are doing. Hold the door open for someone. RESCUE THAT STRAY. No, you don't need another pet but no one ever does. That pet needs you and you'll find like she did that maybe you did need it after all. And above all else, let your people know you love them. Cheer them on. Like their social media posts. Go to their games. Call them to say hi. Text a silly meme. Send them a card just to say hello. We are not made to live life alone ... love your people big. Do it for you. And think of Nancy. Visitation will be held at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral home on Church Street in Marietta, GA on Monday, February 6 from 5p-7p. Her funeral service will be held in the same place on Tuesday, February 7 at 11am with interment to follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Marietta, GA.
