Her obituary: Joann Powell Tanner, 52, of Acworth died Wednesday, July 25, 2007. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Collins Funeral Home in Acworth, with the Rev. Arthur L. Croft officiating. A lifelong resident of Cobb County, Mrs. Tanner was employed as a cashier of Publix Supermarket in Acworth. She was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Marietta. Survivors include her husband, David Tanner; her mother, Doreen W. Powell of Acworth; one brother, Billy Powell of Canton; three sisters, Kelly Curl of Acworth, Jill McCall of Acworth and Amber Powell of Ballground. Contributions may be made to the Fibromyalgia Coalition International, 6740 Antloch Rd., Suite #250 Merriam, KS 66204. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
