Her obituary: Gwendolyn Dean, January 25, 1954 – October 14, 2021. Mrs. Gwendolyn Hendrix Dean, age 67 of Ellijay, passed away on Thursday October 14th, 2021. Mrs. Dean was born and raised in Marietta, Ga to the late Samuel Hendrix and Valley Owenby Hendrix. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Anne Hornsby, Janice Engle, and Reva Kuykendall. Mrs. Dean was a florist for many years. She was the best wife and momma, and to know her, was to love her. Survivors include her husband, Gary M. Dean of Ellijay; three daughters, Tammy Lee Hayden of Ellijay, Shanna Dean of Marietta, and Nicole Hayden of Blue Ridge; one brother, Stanley Wilson (Linda) of Rockmart; one sister, Sybil Townes (Fred); one grandchild, Lily Garfield. To honor her wishes, Mrs. Dean was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Bernhardt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
