Her obituary: Mrs Edie Sturdivant-Burge Smith, 45, former Cobb County resident. Edie Sturdivant-Burge Smith, 45, of Jefferson, formerly of Cobb County, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta, with the Rev. Marvin Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in Gresham Cemetery.
A Cobb County native, Mrs. Smith was employed with Mayfield Dairy for five years as an administrative assistant. She was a member of Carmel Baptist Church in Cherokee County. Survivors include her husband, James W. Smith; one son, Billy Joe Burge of Cumming; one stepson, James W. Smith Jr. of Homestead, Fla.; her father and stepmother, Nolan and Evelyn Sturdivant of Acworth; her mother, Betty Sturdivant of Acworth; one brother, Nolan Noley Sturdivant of Kennesaw; and three sisters, Theresa Gail Black of Alpharetta, Sherri Owenby of Acworth and Jenny Klein of Woodstock.
Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
