Autrey O'Connell. Autrey died on July 4, 2012. This is his 9th grade picture, the last school portrait available.

His obituary: Autrey Angus O'Connell, February 7, 1955 – July 4, 2012 He was the brother who could invent the best games, organize the best scavenger hunts and find the most unusual places to investigate. As kids, we hunted turtles, lizards, crawdads, and every kind of bug imaginable. He was silly, fun and well liked. He was very smart too, winning many awards throughout his lifetime. Who's Who among High School Students (1973), Who's Who among America College Students (1982) and the National Dean's List (1984). He graduated Kennesaw College in 1984 and started his teaching career 1st at Etowah High School and then at Sequoya High School, where he also coached a girl's soccer team. His greatest satisfaction came from his teaching. His ability to engage and inspire his students won him inclusion in the Who's Who among American High School Teachers for two years (2000 and 2003). To us, he was simply our brother.....to others he was a teacher, a mentor, a coach and a friend. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 15th at the Ambassadors for Christ Worship Center, Acworth, GA. Arrangements are under the direction of SouthCare Cremation and Funeral Society of Marietta. (770)-420-5557.
