His obituary: Ronald Owen Bennett, 57. Moultrie – Ronald Owen Bennett, 57, of Moultrie, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at Autreyville Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Casketbearers will be Donald Bennett, Kenny Bennett, Joe Manley, Jerry Bennett, Jerry P. Bennett, Michael McClellan and Larry Humphreys.
Born April 5, 1953, in Moultrie, he was the son of Emily Evans Bennett Giles and the late John Ervin Bennett. He was a retired procurement officer with the Department of Defense in Marietta, Ga., with 30 years of service. He was a member of Noonday Baptist Church in Marietta and had recently been attending Autreyville Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his mother of Moultrie, is one sister, Janet Bennett Pascale and husband Jerry of Pensacola, Fla.; one nephew, Michael McClellan; one niece, Paula Hill; a great-nephew, Thomas Coughlin; a great-niece, Denver McClellan; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral on Sunday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cobb Funeral Chapel.
