His obituary: John Michael Kendrick, December 17, 1953 – December 31, 2024. John Michael Mike Kendrick passed away on December 31, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 17, 1953, in Atlanta, Georgia, Mike was a longtime resident of Marietta and a graduate of Sprayberry High School. He called Acworth home for the past 20 years. Mike dedicated 42 years to his career as a firefighter, where the bonds he formed with his colleagues became those of lifelong brothers. Known for his sense of humor, passion for sports (especially the Georgia Bulldogs), love of gardening, and unwavering commitment to his family, Mike left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Mike is survived by his loving wife, Debbie, their daughter, Brooke, and his beloved little Yorkie, Josie. He also leaves behind a sister, Debbie Strickland of Winter Springs, Florida. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Kendrick. Friends and family are invited to gather on January 18, 2025, at 2:00pm at the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, GA 30152. A reception will immediately follow the service.
