Her obituary: Mrs. Lora Vermeer Holley, age 65 of Monroeville passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020. She was a native of Pella, IA and was retired from the Monroe County Board of Education. Mrs. Holley was an active member of Monroeville First Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was preceded in death by her parents T.J. Vermeer and Margaret Vermeer; infant son Kurtis Wayne Holley and sister Patricia Vos. Mrs. Holley is survived by her husband Wayne Holley of Monroeville, AL; two sons P.J. (Jamie) Holley of Vestavia Hills, AL and Derek (Amanda) Holley of Greenville, SC; sister Barbara Bokhoven (Mel) of Kennesaw, GA, five grandchildren Cole Holley, Anna Reed Holley, Grant Holley, Thompson Holley and Case Holley. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 1PM at Monroeville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Micah Gandy officiating. Interment will follow at Pineville Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends after the services inside the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gideons International.
