His obituary: Shelton – Kenneth Walker Shelton, 47, died Saturday, July 14, 2001 in Panama City Beach, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2001, at the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, 77 Neese Rd. in Woodstock, Ga., with Rev. Shannon Salyer officating. Burial will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Acworth.
Mr. Shelton will lie in state at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. born in Atlanta, Kenneth had lived most of his life in Cobb County. He was a home inspector for Swat Services in Marietta. Survivors include his wife, Karen Denise Shelton of Acworth; his mother, Martha Shelton of Acworth; one stepson Eric Upchurch of Marietta; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Bree and Daniel Hulsey of Marietta; a brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Denise Shelton of Acworth; two grandchildren and three nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Medford-Peden Funeral Home, 1408 Canton Hwy. in Marietta.
