His obituary: Charles Chuck Nixon, September 26, 1953 – August 9, 2019. Charles (Chuck) Edward Nixon, 65, died August 9, 2019. Chuck was born on September 26, 1953 to Marie and Charles (Nick) Nixon in Marietta, GA. He attended Blackwell Elementary, Daniell Junior High and Sprayberry High School. For his final two years of high school, Chuck attended and graduated in 1971 from Woodward Academy in College Park, GA. Chuck graduated from Georgia State University, where he majored in Business Administration. During Chuck's career, his primary occupation was a government procurement officer. He worked for Lockheed-Marietta, and various State of Georgia agencies – Department of Transportation, The Merit System, Georgia Technology Authority and retired from the University of Georgia. Survivors are his sons, Lee Nixon and Kyle Nixon, his parents, Charles (Nick) and Marie Nixon of Marietta, sister Jan Coots (Jim) of Marietta as well as nieces, aunts, cousins and many friends. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
