His obituary: Alton Davis Jordan, Jr. 54, of Saint Cloud, Florida passed away on Friday, June 14, 2002. Mr. Jordan was born in Tampa, Florida in 1948, and had been a resident of St. Cloud, Fla. for the past twelve years. Prior to that time he lived in Marietta until 1989. He served in the Air Force Reserve and was a University of Georgia graduate. Starting his career with United Parcel Service in his junior year of college, he was a part time ground handler for the Athens area. After graduation, he accepted a full time position with UPS and over his thirty–two year career he held the following positions: Manager of the Georgia, East Carolina and Central Florida District. He was the Central Florida Air Manager, Package Division Manager and Special Assignment National Auditor. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sartain Jordan, his two children, Matt Jordan, Mary Jordan, his mother, Kathryn Maddox Jordan, his brothers, Jim Jordan, Jason Jordan, his two sisters, Gina Jordan Riffey and Marilyn Jordan Dickerson. He had numerous nephews and nieces. His father, Alton Davis Jordan, Sr. preceded him in death. He was a loving husband and father and friend to many. He was enthusiastic and passionate about life, his family, his friends, his outdoor hobbies and his career. He always stated, cut me and I'll bleed brown. He was a member of the Tuscawilla Bass Club, an avid fisherman and hunter. He will always be remembered by: I don't play, I quit school because of recess , I understand:, 'let's go fishing' , Hunker Down Dawgs , perfect in every way and it has been a slice of Heaven , "Big Al was a friend to everyone he met, and will be sorely missed by all who loved him. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association, Lou Gehrig's Disease , PO Box 13427, Atlanta, GA 30325. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta with the Rev.
