Marilyn Price. Marilyn died on August 29, 2025.

Her obituary: Marilyn Price Harris, December 16, 1946 – August 29, 2025. Marilyn Price Harris, age 78, passed away on August 29, 2025, at Canterfield Memory Care in Cobb, County, Georgia. Marilyn was a 1964 graduate of Sprayberry High School in Cobb County and graduated with a BA degree from West Georgia College in 1968. After Marilyn and Ron’s marriage in 1968, and following Ron’s service in the military, the couple returned to Cobb County where they made their home in west Cobb and raised their children, Philip and Pamela. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ron Harris, and by her daughter Pamela Harris Davis, grandchildren Dalton, Emma Grace and Brooks, and by her sister Virginia Price Martz. She is pre-deceased by her son Philip M. Harris and by her son-in-law Douglas Davis, Jr. Marilyn was the daughter of the late Hoyt Price and Frances Yancey Price. Marilyn was a member of Noonday Baptist Church throughout her childhood and early adult life. She later was a member of Midway Presbyterian Church in Cobb County. During her children's early years Marilyn was a homemaker, a girl scout mom, a baseball team mom, a swim-team mom, etc., always supporting her children in what was important in their lives. She later worked eleven years for the Cobb County School System, first at Big Shanty Elementary and later as a kindergarten teaching assistant at Frey Elementary. The friends of her children were her friends as well; she always made them feel special and welcome in her home. She was a tender and patient mother to Phil and Pamela, and she adored her grandchildren. She loved to celebrate family birthdays, especially for her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed hosting gatherings to celebrate the special people in her life. Marilyn was a loving wife to Ron and supportive of him in his career where she became friends with many of his associates and clients and their families. Marilyn and Ron loved to travel. They fell in love with the western states and especially the Rocky Mountains when the family first vacationed at Yellowstone National Park in 1986. Over the next decades they enjoyed many travel adventures in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and other countries. Rather than the big city lights, they preferred the wondrous beauty of nature and especially the American West. Sadly, there were many more adventures on their bucket list when Marilyn's battle with Alzheimer's interceded. There will be a memorial service for Marilyn at the chapel of Mayes-Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, Marietta, GA on Tuesday September 2, 2025, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Georgia National Veteran’s Cemetery in Cherokee County, Georgia on a later date.
