His obituary: George Douglas Dobson, March 8, 1944 – June 21, 2025. George Douglas Dobson Jack , age 81, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on June 21, 2025, in his home. George was born in Marietta to George W. and Ruth Dobson on March 8, 1944. He graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1962, where he was on the wrestling team and was a lineman on the football team. After high school, he worked for the Marietta Fire Department, Metro Ambulance, and then the Cobb County Police Department. He later worked in HVAC/Plumbing and Security. George proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rick Dobson. He is survived by his sister Dale Graham and sister in-law Judy Dobson; his three children; John Dobson, Jennifer Bryant (Keith), and Lori Campo (John); four grandchildren, Keri Jean Mims, Ashleigh Bryant, Tabitha Campo; and two great grandchildren Wesley Mims and Wyatt Mims. Visitation will be held at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia on Wednesday July 9, 2025, from 4:00-7:00pm. A military service will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Wednesday July 23, 2025, at 10:00am.
