His obituary: Leon Padgett, February 27, 2015. Leon Padgett, age 73, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lorena H. Padgett. He is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Deborah Purvis Padgett, Flowery Branch, GA; children, David and Wendy Padgett, Canton, GA, Denice Stokes, Emerson, GA and Walter and Cary Thrailkill, Lula, GA; eight grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Lenora Padgett, Franklin, TN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Padgett was born July 14, 1941 in Jasper, GA. He was a graduate of Sprayberry High School in Marietta, GA. He was a truck driver and owner of Padgett Trucking. He was a member of Hamilton Mill Christian Church in Buford, GA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Mahan officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
