Her obituary: Shirley N. Turner, April 20, 2015. Shirley N. Turner, 78, of Belvedere, SC died Monday, April 20, 2015 surrounded by her family. Born, January 30, 1937 in Marietta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Alford Thurman Norton and Mary Ruth Moore Norton. She has lived in Belvedere since 1969 and was a former member of Heights Baptist Church, Beech Island, SC. She worked for 26 years at Play Care Nursery in North Augusta, primarily taking care of the baby room. Her family remembers her as a loving and devoted mother, Nana, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, William Glenn Turner and her granddaughter, Lindsey Sue Loveday. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Susan T. (Wayne) Sweat of Martinez, GA, JoAnn (Randy) Padgett of North, GA and Judy L. Loveday of Belvedere, SC; her grandchildren, Peyton (Michelle) Sweat, Heather Cooper, Bryan Loveday and Brooke Loveday; her great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Chloe, Nolan, Haley and Landon; her siblings, Charles (Annette)Norton of Jasper, GA, Cliffton (Beverly) Norton of Pace, FL, AT (Sharon) Norton of Marietta, GA, Sharon Smith of Griifin, GA, Barbara Childers of Griffin, GA, William (Debbie) Norton of Marietta, GA and Wilburn (Peggy) Norton of Silver Creek, GA; and her special friends, Carolyn Newman, who has been her longtime next door neighbor and her former co-worker at Play Care Nursery, June Cullum. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 10-11 at Hatcher Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11AM in the chapel of the funeral home with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville. Pallbearers will be Peyton Sweat, Bryan Loveday, Charles Norton, Wilburn Norton, William Norton and George Sleister.
