His obituary: Grady Eugene Housley, December 19, 1937 – December 20, 2025. Grady Eugene Housley, age 88, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025. He was born in Copperhill, Tennessee, and later made his home in Cobb County, where he devoted much of his life to public service and community leadership. Grady proudly served as a member of the Cobb County School Board and spent many years in the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the citizens of Cobb and Paulding Counties. Later in life, he continued his involvement in public affairs by serving in supporting roles as a consultant on campaign strategies at both the state and federal levels. His work reflected a deep commitment to political causes and to the citizens he served. Outside of public service, Grady built a successful career in real estate development and maintained a lifelong passion for breeding horses and cattle, as well as farming and timber production. His connection to the land and his respect for hard work and excellence were central to who he was. Grady will be remembered for his dedication to his community, his strong work ethic, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell Housley; his brother, Jimmy Housley; and his sister, Drusilla Housley. He is survived by his daughter, Julie Llewellyn of Marietta, Georgia, and his son, Zachary Housley of Destin, Florida, as well as his six beloved grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, who adored him.
