Alvin Wilmoth. Alvin died on May 24, 2003. He left school early, then returned at a later date. This is his picture from the 1958 Echo, the last school portrait available.

His obituary: Navy veteran Alvin Lee ''Red'' Wilmoth, 63, of Marietta died Saturday, May 24, 2003. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hay-Gantt Funeral Home in Marietta, with the Rev. Guy Foster officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Marietta. A Cobb County native, Mr. Wilmoth was a Navy veteran. He retired from the City of Marietta as a meter reader after more than 30 years of service. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Evans Wilmoth; three daughters, Melissa Wilmoth Cunningham of Marietta and Michelle Huskins and Kimberly Rutledge, both of Cedartown; three stepchildren, Nathaniel Clark of North Carolina, Pamela Bruce of Florida and Kim Lancy of Acworth; one brother, Larry Wilmoth of Powder Springs; four sisters, Carolyn Partain of Smyrna, Janice Stell of Dallas, Allene Abernathy of Marietta and Brenda Gail Hunton of Carrollton; and 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home.
