Mrs. Anne Wilson Hornsby, 83, of Blairsville, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020, at Union County Nursing Home. Mrs. Hornsby was born October 11, 1937, in Marietta, daughter of the late Luther and Vallie Owenby Wilson. A resident of Cobb and Fulton counties most of her life, she was Baptist by faith and was employed in banking for many years, but had also worked for the state and for the postal service. She served as a school bus driver after her retirement. Survivors include her daughter, Tina Dotson of Blairsville; sons, Thomas Hornsby, Jr. of Blairsville, Wayne and Cheryl Hornsby of Palm Coast, FL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Sybil Towns of Canton, Gwen Dean of Ellijay; and brother, Stanley Wilson of Yorkville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. (Tommy) Hornsby, Sr. The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Terry Rainwater officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
