Her obituary: Shirley Elizabeth Prince Duncan November 4, 1936 – October 13, 2014 Shirley Elizabeth Prince Duncan, 77, of Cartersville, died October 13, 2014. Mrs. Duncan was born November 4, 1936 in Kennesaw, GA to the late Ernest George Prince and the late Gertrude Champion Prince Daniel. She married the late Albert Winfield Duncan in July 1955 and lived for many years in Kennesaw and later in Marietta and Woodstock. For the past 28 years, she made her home in Cartersville. Her parents as well as her husband predeceased her. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, her life revolved around family, and she delighted in spending time with them and looked forward to family gatherings throughout any given year. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Kennesaw Lodge No. 33, F.& A.M, where she served as Worthy Matron. She is survived by sons Douglas R. Duncan and daughter-in-law Rocio Duncan of Cartersville, Gregory W. Duncan and Gary D. Glover of Marietta; grandchildren Matthew D. Duncan and his wife Jennifer C. Duncan of Marietta, Noah L. Duncan of Jacksonville, FL, Jessica D. Pels and her husband John G. Pels of New York City, Sergio A. Duncan of San Antonio, TX; great-grandchildren Madison E. Duncan and Davis W. Duncan, both of Marietta; brothers Jack M. Prince and his wife Joyce Prince of Smyrna and Billy J. Prince and his wife Edna Weaver of Cartersville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home in Cartersville with the Rev Keith Willard officiating. Interment was in the Kennesaw Memorial Park.
