Scronal H. Dean, age 82, of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2018. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 25 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Mayes- Ward Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. A Memorial will be held at Mayes-Ward Historic Chapel on Monday, November 26 at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Lori Etheridge officiating. Scronal (Scron) Dean will forever be loved by his family and friends.
Scron was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn, his father John E. Dean, and his mother Addie Lee Dean. He is survived by his sister Nell Hitt, his daughter Gaye (Sam) Hyland, granddaughter Amy Hyland, grandson Matthew (Tiffany) Hyland, great grandchildren Shane and Addie, his long-time companion Delores Stoll, his daughter Cindy French, grandson Al Cook, and great grandson Max Littleton.
Scron is a graduate of Sprayberry High School where he excelled in basketball. It appears that basketball started his drive for achievement. He later went to night school while working fulltime and received a Bachelor's degree in Business from Georgia State. He married his beautiful high school sweetheart Carolyn in 1956 and started a family in 1958. Scron was a high achiever and began working at Lockheed Corporation when he was eighteen. He worked his way up in Aeronautics Proposal Engineering and Development over a successful 51 year career. Scron was involved in multiple, high profile assignments and received many accolades and awards for service.
Scron and Carolyn shared a love of family, friends, travel, beaches and boating. Scron's favorite hobby was fishing, both fresh and saltwater, and he loved the camaraderie that came with the sport. He was determined and intelligent, but also known for an irresistible smile, a fun-loving disposition, and a kind spirit. Scron made friends everywhere he went. He had friends from high school, from Kingswood- neighborhood, from fishing trips, from The Village at Barrett Greene, and most recently from Venice, Florida. Scron Dean, we will miss you so very much! You made the world brighter.
